Rea Sweets is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the tangled and whimsical spaces where intimacy, humour, and imagination meet. Through tactile, performative, and interactive mediums, she creates immersive experiences that invite play, wonder, and vulnerability, often blurring the lines between romantic and platonic connection. Her practice is a dance between connection and disconnection, unravelling the complexity of longing and savouring microintimacies in unexpected places.

Much of her work is informed by her experiences as a 1.5 gen, mad and disabled, mestiza Filipina Mexican woman of faith. She is the co-editor of PRUDEmag, a zine for spinsters, asexuals, celibates, relationship anarchists, and all others refusing sex necessarism.
She has worked with Scarborough Arts, Akin Collective and exhibited works at Charles Street Video, Trinity Square Video, Dames Making Games, Myseum of Toronto and Gladstone Hotel. Rea is a graduate of the Creative Industries program at Toronto Metropolitan University.
